Life after the wedding

Peter and I just had the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen - alright I havn't really been to that many weddings, but I have the right to have a biased opinion on this one. The day was beautiful and most of my friends were here and ... to be sappy most importantly Peter was free that day.

So we had a beautiful arch with lots of flowers and that's where the ceremony was. Then we had a flower ceremony to unite our families into one. One of our groomsmen read the Corinthians and another one sang for us "As Time Goes On." It almost brought a tear to my eye. We read our vows to each other from our journal. But I was a big girl - I didn't cry. Ok, I never really understand why people cry at weddings since it's such a happy day. It will go down in the books as one of my happiest day, if not already one.

So I guess one of the advice I can give to to anyone after planning and organizing this wedding is: marriage takes intentional effort, compromise, patience, unconditional understanding and most of all, love. I know everyone says wedding planning is hard, but planning something is easy - it's the understanding of each other's emotional attachments to certain things. I think it's the greatest test of your love for each other to let go of your own feelings to fulfill the other person's dream. Yes, I am not a typical bride - I actually never really thought much about my own wedding prior to the wedding.

All in all, I am glad I had a wedding and I think it's good for relationship building.
